Limitations
Although the Tribunal can investigate complaints against any organisation that holds powers under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 (RIPA), claims brought under the Human Rights Act are limited to the following organisations:
- any of the Intelligence Services
- any of her majesty's forces
- any UK police force
- Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA)
- HM Revenue and customs
- Police Service
The Tribunal will consider if any of the above organisations has breached your Human Rights as a result of any conduct they may have carried out, which falls under the auspices of RIPA.
If your Human Rights Act claim relates to any other organisation, the Tribunal is not the appropraite place to take that claim, and you should seek legal advice.
